Since 2015 our Sunny Patch Community Growing Project has grown, rescued and shared over 8,000 lbs. of garden fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs with neighbors struggling to access food.  From 2018 to 2019 we rescued and redirected an additional 34,000 lbs. of produce from landfills through a pilot food rescue project with local pantry partners.

We're the first community garden project in DuPage County to grow exclusively with some of our at-risk families and for our local food pantry partners - OLP and OLMC.

The following Prezi showcases our first few seasons but hasn’t been updated since our third growing season (2017) - just too darn busy growing and rescuing food!

What started as a modest community garden project is now a local movement powered by neighbors wanting to reconnect, not only with their food but, more importantly, with each other.

We'd like to think we helped bring the COMMUNITY to the social food production movement!
